432,809. Moulding concrete roads, floors, and walls. WALKER, J. H., 21, Shooter's Hill Road, Blackheath, London. Feb. 2, 1934, No. 3557. [Class 20 (ii)] A removable form for moulding inset and offset portions in the end faces of a slab of concrete or like mouldable material is made with those portions 10 or 15, which mould the insets, constructed of steel, cast iron, or other substance which does not expand under the influence of moisture. In the construction shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the form comprises a long steel channel-plate 6 supported by short steel channel-plates 7 which are spaced apart at equal intervals and are secured to one limb 8 of the plate 6 by rivets 9. The portions 10 which mould the insets consist of cast-iron boxes having upper horizontal faces 11 and sloping side faces 12, and which are detachably secured to the channel-plate 6 by bolts 13. The ends of the sides 12 abut against the ends of the channel-plates 7. The boxes project horizontally beyond the outer vertical face of the channel-plate 6 by a distance equal to that between the outer faces of the channel-plates 6, 7. In the construction shown in Fig. 6, the boxes 15 are loosely positioned at equidistant points along a wooden beam 14 to the upper portion of which is attached a second thinner wooden beam having a thickness substantially one half the depth of the boxes.
