432,585. High-frequency machines; inductor-alternators. SHUTTLEWORTH, N., Admiralty Research Laboratory, Tedding- ton, Middlesex, and DRYSDALE, C. V., Admiralty, London. Feb. 7, 1934, No. 4025. [Class 35] In a high-frequency alternator, the inductor is located between two concentric parts of the stator and the stator conductors are in slots which are almost closed. In the form shown, the solid rotor 5 has slots containing twisted conductors connected by end rings to form a squirrel cage, and the ratio of stator slots to rotor slots is as 2 : (2n + 1) where n is a whole number. The exciting coils 6 may be disposed between the parts 3, 3A of the stator and the rotor periphery may be laminated.
