432,496. Centrifugal pumps. HALLEWELL, H. S., 87A, Braemar Avenue, Neasden, London. Jan. 27,1934, No. 2848. [Class 110 (i)] A centrifugal pump comprises a hollow shaft 2 which forms the suction, a double disc impeller 1, 15, and a stationary casing 5, 6. Liquid is drawn in through a valve 9, and passes to the impeller via the shaft 4 and oblique passages 3. After leaving the impeller the liquid passes along guide vanes held between a fixed disc 16 and the casing 6 and thence to the axial discharge 13. The space 17 between the discs 15, 16 forms a priming chamber.
