Abstract

431,008. Seat - covers. DUROSE, H. V., 1355, Bristol Road South, Birmingham. Feb. 8, 1934, No. 4158. [Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (iv)] A loose cover for the seats of vehicles comprises a part 1 fixed to the seat cushion and covering the top face only thereof, and a part 2 connected thereto covering the front face of the seat back, and means whereby the upper part of the seat back cover is slidably and resiliently connected to the upper part of the seat back. The cover comprises a single layer of suitable material, or several layers of different kinds of material. The resilient connection to the upper part of the seat back may comprise a strip or strips 6 of elastic material secured to triangular tabs 7, 8 sewn to the upper part of the cover and turned over the top part of the seat back. The tabs may be of felt, leather or other material which will slide on the edges of the seat back. The part 1 of the cover is secured over the seat cushion by means of elastic bands 6<a>, 6b secured to tabs 9 and passing under the seat cushion. In a modified construction, the back part 11, Fig. 3, of the cover is secured to the seat back by elastic bands 20, secured to the cover by press studs.
