Abstract

430,228. Liquid-fuel burners. FLUMERE, S. J. DE, and FLUMERE, M. J. DE, 31, Tuttle Street, Revere, Massachusetts, U.S.A. Dec. 31, 1934, No. 37401. Convention date, June 30. [Class 75 (i)] A liquid-fuel burner comprises a rectangular plate 10 formed on its upper surface with a number of parallel rectangular troughs 16 separately connected to fuel preheating chambers 23, 24 and carrying perforated combustion tubes 18. The fuel is supplied to the chambers 23, 24 through inlets 26, 27. Removable plugs 28, 29 at the ends of the chambers 23, 24 facilitate cleaning. A cover plate 21 formed with flame slots 22 extends over the tops of the combustion tubes. The plate 10 is carried by a post 11 secured by a screw 14 at the required height in an eccentric sleeve 13 which is secured by a screw 15 in a stand 12. The burner may alternatively comprise a single fuel preheating chamber supplying a series of parallel troughs.
