Abstract
416,802. Gas burners. RADIANT HEATING, Ltd., Harmood Street, Chalk Farm Road, and COX, F. J., Fernbank, Carleton Road, Tufnell Park, both in London. April 7, 1933, No. 10429. [Class 75 (i).] In a refractory burner element in which gas or gaseous mixture is supplied through holes d2 in the lower part D into one or more elongated combustion chambers c having an outlet slot s extending through the top surface so that the latter is heated preferably to incandescence, the upper part consists of members b fitted loosely in dovetail or other recesses d<1> in the lower part. Alternatively, the lower part may be provided with projections for engaging in recesses in the lower end of the members b. The latter are formed at the top with lateral projections a<2>, the projections on one side of each combustion chamber being opposite the projections, or the intervening recesses, on the other side. The part D may be formed of parallel members d cemented together at d4 under the centres of the members b, the holes d<2> being arranged below the projections a<2>.
