Abstract

405,156. Wick burners. GEE, H. T. P., 51, Chancery Lane, London.-(Seifert, P. K. A. ; 22, Schliessfach, Heidenau Bez, Dresden, Germany.) May 9, 1933, No. 13468. [Class 75 (i).] In an oil - burning cooking, heating, or lighting apparatus the fuel is vaporized and burnt with a blue flame in a combustion chamber formed by two perforated cylinders a, b arranged above an adjustable asbestos wick dipping into a fuel reservoir g. The wick consists of asbestos paper of less than .012" thick rolled in layers so as to leave intermediate spaces forming capillary tubes and is mounted in a cup k which can be raised and lowered through rack and pinion gearing l, m by an inclined spindle n. The spindle n is mounted in a tubular bearing and projects outside the reservoir g.
