[Classes 75 (i), 75 (iii), and 126.] A vapour-burning stove comprises in combination, a fuel reservoir a in which vapour pressure can be developed by heat conducted back from the burner, a burner supply pipe c extending from the top of the reservoir and containing a wick d or other absorbent substance, a fuel-regulating valve e, a vapour nipple f, an atmospheric burner h arranged above the nipple, an inverted reflector k situated between the burner and tank, a spring-loaded relief valve o on the reservoir allowing excess vapour produced in the reservoir to escape through a pipe p to the burner, and a starting trough l on the top of the tank connected to the flame zone of the burner by a pipe m fitted at its lower end with a wick. Petrol or other spirit is burnt at starting in the trough l to vaporize the fuel in the pipe d and to produce an initial pressure in the reservoir. On opening the valve e the burner h will be ignited by the vapour burning at the top of the pipe m. A body which becomes luminous when heated may be mounted on the burner.
