Abstract

428,340. Supports for electric incandescent lamp filaments. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, and TIMMINS, J. H., Osram-G. E. C. Lamp Works, Brook Green, Hammersmith, both in London. Sept. 12, 1934, No. 26198. [Class 39 (ii)] The backbone or stem 2 carrying the longitudinally extending filament 4 of a tubular electric incandescent lamp is supported by leaf-spring members 5 which are spring or clipped on to the backbone 2 and are provided with arms 6 adapted to engage resiliently the inner wall of the envelope 1 of the lamp. As shown in Fig. 1 the leaf-spring 5 is formed with a curved slightly re-entrant portion 7 at the junction of the arms 6, adapted to clip upon the member 2, the curve of the junction being directed towards the ends of the arms. Fig. 2 shows a modification wherein the junction is directed away from the ends of the arms 6 to form a part 8 which rests upon the wall of the lamp.
