Abstract

304,882. Grote, E. R. Dec. 13, 1927. Bulbs; caps; filaments ; holders. -To enable an uninterrupted line of light to be obtained from a series of tubular bulbs placed end to end, the caps 9 are located on the sides of the bulbs and the filaments 3 are carried to the ends of the bulbs. Wires 4 to support the filament are sealed into a glass rod 5 which is supported by wires 7 sealed at 10 into the wall of the bulb. The wires 7 also support the leading-in conductors 6. The bulbs are supported in troughs 12, Fig. 4, by recessed contacts 13 engaging the caps 9 and spring clips 18 engaging depressions 11 in the walls of the bulbs, linear expansion of the bulbs being provided for.
