Abstract
428,203. Plug couplings. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. Dec. 17, 1934, No. 36135. Convention date, Dec. 16, 1933. Addition to 340,363. [Class 38 (i)] In a plug-and-socket coupling as described in the parent Specification in which an insulating disc is moved to cover the socket contacts during the withdrawal of the plug and the complete separation of the plug and socket members is prevented until the socket contacts are thus covered, the insulating disc 8 slides lineally in a suitablyshaped guide under the control of a key-shaped member 21 engaging a cam-shaped aperture 17, the necessary rotation of key 21 during the insertion and removal of the plug being produced by the angular displacement of slots 18, 16 in the body 7 and the cover plate 9, respectively. The disc 8 is designed to cover four socket elements and a fifth (earthing) contact may be provided for by forming the key-carrying pin 15 with an internal socket 19 adapted to co-operate with a pin 20 in the slot 18. The plug and socket members have enclosing hoods 3, 4 and a locking ring 1<a> may be provided.
