428,200. Flow meters for granular &c. materials. COPES REGULATORS, Ltd., 5, Theobalds Road, London..-(Northern Equipment Co. ; 1945, Grove Drive, Erie, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.) Nov. 19, 1934, No. 33302. [Class 69 (i)] In apparatus for measuring the flow of dry material in a shoot &c., a roller extending into the shoot has a surface engaging the material, part at least of the surface being inclined or transverse to the axis of rotation. The roller 6 may be of spheroidal shape, is mounted in a housing 5 secured to an adapter 3 permanently mounted in an opening in the shoot, and has a yielding covering 7. A sealing ring 13, and inspection covers are provided. Recording or counting apparatus is driven from an eccentric on the roller shaft through a connecting rod adjustably pivoted to a crank. In modifications, a cylindrical roller or a disc is employed.
