Abstract
428,162. Erasers. JONES, J. W. HAMILTON-, 25, Hurlingham Gardens, Fulham, London. April 28, 1934, No. 12914. [Class 146 (iii)] A device for attachment to a pencil holder comprises an eraser 8 carried by a sleeve 7 which is closed at one end, and a tubular member 6 in which the sleeve 7 is slidable, the arrangement being such that, when the tubular member is applied to the end of a projection 4 on a cap 3 screwed or otherwise removably inserted into the end of a space-lead receptacle in the pencil holder 1, the sleeve is engaged thereby to move the eraser to exposed position or to cover it and move the closed end of the sleeve to the end of the tubular member. The eraser 8 is preferably mounted in a cup 9 frictionally secured in the sleeve 7, an internal projection 10 serving to limit the extent of insertion, and a slot being provided to enable a pointed instrument to be inserted for facilitating removal. The extension 4 and sleeve 7 are each provided with projections or slotted portions for increasing the frictional grip on the member 6.
