Abstract
927,411. Marking instruments. ETABLISSEMENTS J. HERBIN. March 21, 1961 [April 8, 1960], No. 10230/61. Class 146 (3). A marking instrument comprises a container 1, a removable cartridge (Fig. 3) accommodated in the container, absorbent material e.g. felt, impregnated with ink and packed in the cartridge, and a felt wick 4 mounted at one end of the container so as to touch the absorbent material and receive liquid therefrom by capillary attraction. The container 1 which may be of metal, glass or a synthetic plastic material, is closed at its rear end by a flexible stopper 3 which is removable. The cartridge is of flexible synthetic plastic material and before use it is heat-sealed at 6 and 7. Before the cartridge is inserted in the container the end 6 is cut off with scissors so that the wick 4 can touch the absorbent material in the cartridge after insertion of the latter.
