429,394. Pencil holders for mathematical drawing-appliances. HOLLAND, T. B., 161, Gorton Road, Reddish, Stockport, Cheshire. March 9, 1934, No. 7473. [Class 146 (iii)] [See also Group XX] A pencil-holder for a drawing- instrument comprises a tubular socket S adapted to be attached to or formed integrally with the drawing-instrument, the socket being split at its lower end C to provide a resilient grip for a lead or the like which is held within the socket, and which may be propelled by an adjusting-screw F which screws into the upper end of the socket and is arranged coaxially therewith so as to engage with the upper end of the lead or the like inserted within the socket. The socket S may be formed integrally with the leg of a compass, or may be fixed thereto by a clamping-screw.
