Abstract
426,505. Television. TEDHAM, W. F., 267, Woolwich Road, Abbey Wood, London. Dec. 6, 1933, No. 34346. [Class 40 (iii)] An image of an object 15 is continuously projected, as by a lens 14 and mirror 13, onto a mosaic screen of photo -electric elements 6, and the screen is scanned by a light spot preferably derived from the movement of a cathode ray beam 10 over a fluorescent screen 9. The scanning beam causes saturation emission of electrons from each element 6, which pass to the anode 7, bringing each element 6 to the potential of the anode, e.g. 20 volts. When an element 6 is illuminated by the light from the object only, the electron emission decreases and the electrons leak through a semi - conducting layer 5, e.g. aluminium oxide, to the plate 4. The current through resistance 17 produced by the scanning action provides the output for amplification and transmission.
