Convention date, Sept. 20, 1932. [Class 38 (ii)] A commutator-switching arrangement for rectifying high tension current comprises several pairs of relatively short needles h mounted on opposite sides of insulating discs k on a rotary shaft g and adapted to be periodically connected in series by stationary contacts e to charge a condenser b from a transformer a. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises the following subject-matter. Condensers may be connected to the fixed contacts to equalize the potential stresses over the rectifier elements. Alternatively, suitably proportioned creepage paths may be formed between the rectifier elements for potential equalization. In a further modification, a group of rectifiers having their needle shafts geared to a common operating shaft are connected in series through protection plates provided at the ends of each rectifier. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
