[Class 8 (ii)] A control for engines, pumps, or electric motors, comprises a pneumatic relay in which air pressure is supplied by the pipe 5 to a distributer comprising a twin valve 6, 9 loaded by a spring 7. The valve 9 engages a port in a piston 3 connected by a spring 10 to a pedal 11. Pressure in the pedal 11 causes the piston 3 to depress the valve and air passes the valve 6 until sufficient pressure is built up to raise the piston against the spring 10 and allow the valve 6 to close. Relief of pressure on the pedal 11 allows air pressure in the distributer to raise the piston 3 and allow exhaust to atmosphere until the spring 10 seats the piston in the valve 9. The distributer is connected by a pipe 8 to a bellows 13 soldered to the end of a cylinder and also to a piston 14 having an extension 14<a> abutting a rod 15 connected by links to the regulating member. A spring 17 is placed between the collar 15<a> and an adjustable abutment 16. The distributer may be connected to several bellows arrangements to provide a multiple engine control.
