Abstract
423,393. Windows. NAYLOR, M., 21, Hillsea Avenue, Heysham, Morecambe, Lancashire. Jan. 9, 1934, Nos. 767 and 11784. [Class 20 (iii)] In a window comprising one or more fixed glazed sections between the sill and an opening sash or sashes, the bottom rail of each opening sash is extended downwardly and forwardly to cover a transome at the top of the fixed section, the upper part of the fixed framing for the opening sash being recessed into a forwardly-projecting lintel. In the construction shown, the window has fixed sections 2, 9, and opening sashes comprising casements 4, and a fanlight 11. The bottom rails 14 of the opening sashes are shaped to cover and project over transomes 8 at the top of the fixed sections, the meeting faces being stepped as at 13. The top rail 12 of the frame is recessed into an overhanging lintel 17 which is formed with a groove or throat 19.
