423,077. Drinking - appliances for poultry. WAKEFORD, G., Fern Lee, Wisborough Green, Billingshurst, Sussex. April 9, 1934, No. 10657. [Class 5 (ii)] A drinking-appliance for poultry comprises a drinking trough 1 mounted on the end of a vertical supply pipe 2, a float 9 in said trough adapted tc operate a valve 5 fitting in the end of said supply pipe tc control the level o: water in the trough, a cover 10 sup ported above the trough to prevent droppings falling into the trough and bars 11 spaced around the trough to prevent the poultry from falling into the trough. The supply pipe 2 is threaded at its end to receive a screw-threaded union 3 in which is fitted the valve body 4, the stem of the valve proper 5 being connected by a rod 6 to a pin 7 in an adjustable sleeve 8 in the float.
