421,193. Disinfecting-apparatus for water-waste-preventers. STANWELL, O. E., 90, Aylmer Road, Shepherd's Bush, London. June 21, 1933, No. 17665. [Class 26] [See also Group II] A device for adding disinfectant to the water in a cistern, comprises a chamber 1, a depending open-bottom dip - pipe 3 extending into the cistern and a pipe 4 of small bore within the chamber which opens into the chamber at its bottom and at its top communicates with the interior of the closed upper end of the pipe 3 or of a closed space with which the pipe 3 communicates. The arrangement is such that as the level in the cistern falls, liquid is drawn over from the chamber, which action proceeds until the liquid-level falls below the bottom of the pipe 3. The effective length of the pipe 3 may be varied by adjustment of a sleeve 5 thereon.
