422,537. Pipe joints. PARKER, C. H., The Glen, Codsall, near Wolverhampton. July 5, 1933, No. 20407 /34. Divided out of 421,893, [Group I]. [Class 99 (i)] The joint between a siphon B and the cylinder A and also between the downpipe and the outlet fitting C is effected by forming an annular bulge b above the joint, leaving an extension therebeyond, which is subsequently expanded into contact with the connecting-member. The cylinder A is flanged at a<2> preferably with a slight taper and the extension is expanded thereagainst at b<1>, or against the undersurface of the cylinder. The fitting C is tapered or provided with a groove or rebate c to secure the expanded extension; alternatively, the extension may be expanded over the under surface of the fitting.
