Abstract
420,081. Walls; slabs. DAVEY, F. W., 14, Victoria Street, London. May 22, 1933, No. 14801. [Classes 20 (iv) and 87 (i)] A wall comprises a thickness g of dense concrete, then a thickness b of porous breeze concrete, and finally an inner lining a of wallboard of the wood pulp or fibreboard type. The dense concrete g is cast in situ between temporary shuttering and a layer formed of pre-formed slabs, each comprising the wallboard layer a, breeze concrete b cast on to the wallboard a, and, preferably, a paper layer c, which may be coated with tar or bitumen prior to casting the layer g. The composite slabs are supported against a temporary framework, and are provided with projecting loops adapted to be secured to the framework. The shuttering for casting the concrete g may be connected by wire ties to the framework for supporting the slabs. For internal walls, the concrete g may be cast between two layers each comprising composite slabs a, b, c.
