420,063. Pipe joints. DANKS & CO. (OLDBURY), Ltd., E., and HENRY, J., Oldbury, near Birmingham. Aug. 27, 1934, No. 24579. [Class 99 (i)] In an expansion pipe joint of the kind in which a tail-pipe 2 is free to move in a stuffing- box 3 at each end of a sleeve 1, the tail-pipes bear in guides 6 carried by the sleeve externally of the stuffing-boxes. The sleeve has a bell mouth with openings for access to the gland 4. Each guide has a bush 7 and lubricator 7<1>. Lugs 9 on the flange 10 of the tailpipe engage bolts 8 to prevent the pipe pulling out. A lubricator 15 is connected to a space in the packing formed by a perforated H- section ring 11.
