Abstract
419,416. Cleaning cheese moulds. COLLOMB, L. S., St.-Maurice-sur-Dargoire, Rhone, France. May 2, 1934, No. 13232. Convention date, June 6, 1933. [Class 138 (i).] A machine for cleaning moulds, such as the mould L used in the manufacture of cheese, comprises a mechanically-driven brush A on a vertical shaft, lateral brushes E resiliently mounted and displaceable towards or from the sides of the mould, and a horizontal brush G movable to or from the end of the mould. As shown, the vertical brush is driven by an electric motor C and is mounted in a tub H to which water can be supplied through an opening I. Each of the brushes E is of dovetailed form, being held in a pivoted support W by screws Y. The support W is pressed towards the mould by a spring and is carried by a slide M adjustable by a bolt and ring nut. A screw N is provided for adjusting the inclination of the brush E to the mould. The brush G, which is pivotally mounted, is, when in use, held by hand against the end of the mould. For cleaning moulds of square or triangular section, the brushes E are moved towards or from the mould by a cam R, Fig. 9, on the driving shaft B, the cam co-operating with a roller T on each slide M carrying a brush. The slide is pressed by a spring S towards the mould.
