Abstract

279,607. Jackson, J. P. Sept. 29, 1926. Pie-moulding machines; rotary-table machines.-In rotary-table pie or tart moulding machines, the table 5 is carried by a spindle 4 carrying a disc 6 having a vertical rim or flange 6a furnished with vertical slots 10 and intermediate segmental recesses 12 adapted to be engaged respectively by a pin 9 and a curved member 11 on a cam 8 secured to a horizontal shaft 7 disposed either above or below the disc to rotate the table intermittingly. The shaft, 7 is driven from the main shaft 14 through worm gearing 13 and operates the moulding-tool 21 through an eccentric 16, rod 28, crosshead 26 and members 17, 19. Recesses 35 are formed in the table to receive a locking-member 33 which is suspended from the crosshead 26 and is forced into a recess by a stationary wedge 34. The table is provided with holders for tins &c. each holder being provided with a plunger 31 adapted to engage a ramp 32 to eject the tins &c., after moulding. A scraper 25, secured to an arm 24 delivers the tins &c. to a shoot. The tool 21 may be provided with a trimming-cutter 37 carried by a lever 38 adapted to be engaged by a tappet rod 40 carrying a roller 41 engaging a cam 42 on the shaft 7. According to the Provisional Specification, trimming is effected by a rotary cutter operated through a horizontal rod having a V-groove adapted to engage a handle projecting from the cutter.
