Abstract
417,949. Washing dishes. BRITISH THOMSON - HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London, and LINGARD, H. A., Oak Side, Elms Road, Harrow Weald, Middlesex. April 20, 1933, No. 11592. [Class 138 (i).] A machine for washing dishes comprises as a unitary structure a motor driven pump 5, Fig. 1, connected to a hot water supply and provided with an outlet nozzle having an elongated orifice to produce a water jet in sheet form which can be sprayed in any direction. The pump 5 has a casing 6 with inlet passages 7, 8, Fig. 2, and outlet passages 9, 10. The actual pump consists of intermeshing wheels 11, 12, one of which is directly coupled with a motor 1. A liquid soap reservoir 26, Fig. 1, with an outlet 27 may be connected with the outlet pipe from the pump. Byepass passages 28, Fig. 2, and a relief valve 29 are provided for use when outlet pressure becomes excessive due to choking of the nozzle or the closing of a hand-operated valve at the nozzle.
