Abstract

986,311. Spraying. BOLTON-EMERSON S.A. Jan. 10, 1964 [Jan. 17, 1963], No. 1235/64. Heading B2F. [Also in Division D2] A shower tube 26, having spray orifices 27, is cleaned by closing the liquid inlet pipe 30 and opening suction pipe 51 located adjacent pipe 30. Sediment in orifices 27 is sucked into tube 26, and then swept into pipe 51 by a cleaning plug 42 which is sucked along the tube. End 25 of the tube is normally connected to the atmosphere but may be connected to a steam supply so that as plug 42 moves along the tube steam may enter the tube behind it to melt any wax &c. in the orifices. Valves 31, 53, 58 and 60 may be operated manually or by timers 57, 66.
