Abstract

1,040,221. Self-feeding brushes. O. BAUDER. Jan. 1, 1965 [July 6, 1964], No. 79/65. Heading A4K. [Also in Division F2] The handle 6 of a hose-brush releases a cut-off valve for the water supply so that, when opening the handle to renew the detergent cartridge within it, the water pressure closes the valve. The valve stem 11 is slidably mounted in a hose connector 8, so that the water pressure exerted on the head 13, as the connector 8 is unscrewed from sleeve 7, forces it on to the valve seat. On screwing the connector 8 in the other direction, collar 18 abuts shoulder 17 and the head 13 is lifted from the valve seat to allow a full or a regulated supply of water to pass to the brush head.
