417,902. Knitting-machines. WILDMAN MFG. CO., Norristown, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Howie, K., and Krieble, C. C. ; Norristown, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.) Nov. 30, 1933, No. 33691. Convention date, Dec. 21, 1932. [Class 74 (ii).] A straight-bar machine for making fashioned fabrics requiring one yarn only, e.g. sweaters, has a yarn-guide t mounted upon an endless flexible band 26 so as to be reciprocated along the row of needles. A dog 34 is secured to the band 26 and is driven by a pawl 31<a>. The dog 34 has chamfered portions 34d for engagement by inclined portions 31<b> upon the pawl in the two directions of its movement, and has a stud 35 for engagement with selvedge stops Rs which are adjustable automatically for fashioning. Upon the stud 35 reaching a stop, the pawl 31<a> is depressed against the resistance of spring plungers 31<c>, and at the end of its stroke, is raised by a slide 31<j> which engages an abutment member C. Movement of the slide with respect to the pawl brings cam surfaces 31<h> into operation upon the pawl. The pawl 31<a> is slidably mounted in a block 31 attached to a band 30 clamped to an arm of the slur cock carrier. Specification 411,517 is referred to.
