417,749. Sliding-bolts. BURD, S., 2, Massie Street, Cheadle, Cheshire. Dec. 28, 1933, No. 36451. [Class 44.] A bolt 3 is provided adjacent its locking end with a projection 8 and an enlargement 7 is formed on the housing 2 to receive the projection 8 when the bolt is retracted. When the bolt is shot, the projection passes along a channel 10 or slot in the keeper 9 and when the bolt is turned to the position shown engages behind the keeper to prevent separation of the bolt and its keeper. To retain the bolt in this position, a notch may be provided in the end of the keeper to receive the projection 8 and a corresponding notch may be provided for the operating arm 4. The projection 8 may cooperate with a stop surface 19 on the keeper to limit rotation of the bolt.
