Abstract

415,804. Valve generating circuits. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., Electra House, Victoria Embankment, London, and WASSELL, H. J. H., 120, Mildmay Road, Chelmsford. March 6, 1933, No. 6709. [Class 40 (v).] A generator comprises an oscillation valve V1 whose output includes a parallel tuned circuit Z 1 from a tapping on which energy is fed over a piezoelectric crystal Cr to a reaction valve V2 whose anode circuit is connected to the grid of valve VI. Preferably a condenser C1 is in series with the crystal Cr, and a condenser C2 connects the anode of valve V2 to the grid of valve VI. The output circuit of valve V2 comprises a tuned circuit Z2 while the oscillations are taken off from a resistance Z3. The high tension source is connected to a tapping on the circuit Z 1 and grid bias is supplied over leads 1, 2. Automatic grid bias may alternatively be utilized, Fig. 2 (not shown). The circuits Z1, Z2 may be tuned to the crystal frequency, or a harmonic of the crystal frequency may be produced by suitably adjusting the circuits Z1, Z2, and setting the reaction valve V2 to work on a suitable point of its characteristic.
