Abstract

451,877. Valve generating circuits. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., Electra House, Victoria Embankment, London, and WITTS, A. T., Anido, Phyllis Avenue, New Malden, Surrey. April 26, 1935, No. 12559. [Class 40 (v)] A multi-grid valve oscillator has at least four grids, G1, G2 next to the cathode being back coupled to generator oscillations, G3 being a positive screen, and G4 being a frequency stabilizing grid coupled to the anode circuit preferably by a piezo-electric crystal 4. An optional fifth grid G5 is connected to G3. In a modification, the crystal is connected across the resistance 5. The circuit 10, 11 coupling the grids G1, G2 may be tuned to a frequency 5 per cent to 10 per cent above that of the crystal, and to prevent beat frequencies, the potential applied to G2 should not be too high, .70 volts being a suitable maximum.
