676,716. Valve generating circuits; superheterodyne circuits. TESLA, NATIONAL CORPORATION, and VACKAR, J. Feb. 21, 1950 [Feb. 26, 1949], No. 4481/50. Classes 40 (v) and 40 (vi)] In an oscillator circuit in which the cathode, grid and anode of a valve are connected to points on a voltage divider C2, C3, C' in parallel with the condenser C<SP>1</SP> of a tuned circuit L<SP>1</SP>, C<SP>1</SP>, constant amplitude of oscillation over the tuning range is obtained by means of an additional condenser C5 in series with the condenser C' and connected so as to develop a voltage proportional to the current in the tuned circuit L<SP>1</SP>, C<SP>1</SP>. In a superheterodyne receiver the condensers C<SP>4</SP>, C<SP>5</SP> may be used for the additional purpose of obtaining accurate tracking. An alternative arrangement, Fig. 4 (not shown), comprises the connection of inductances in series with either or both of the condensers C<SP>3</SP>, C<SP>4</SP>, the condenser C<SP>5</SP> then being omitted.
