[Class 6 (iii).] A mowing-machine in which the cutting mechanism consists of reciprocating and fixed comb-like blades comprises side frames b carrying land wheels a, and comb bladed cutting mechanism supported by a cross beam rand actuated by a crank disc o borne by a bracket i supported on a cross member h and one of the side frames b, the crank o being driven by gearing l, k which is supported by the bracket i and driven by bevel gears m, n from a countershaft d connected to the land wheels. The cutting mechanism comprises a fixed blade having projecting tongues s and a movable blade u reciprocated by the crank o through a connecting rod p. An adjustable wooden roller t is provided and the ground wheels a are furnished with projections v.
