479,900. Mowing-machines. MILLARD, H. G. Aug. 14, 1936, No. 16812. [Class 6 (iii)] To convert an ordinary motor vehicle into a mowing-machine the frame 8 of an ordinary horse-drawn mower, but without the axle and the land wheels, is detachably secured to the chassis of the vehicle and the knife bar of the mowing-machine is actuated from a crank 11. on a longitudinal shaft 7 arranged on the vehicle and driven by chain gearing 5, 6 from a longitudinal shaft 4 carried by the vehicle and itself driven through chain gearing from the engine shaft 2. A clutch 12 is fitted in the shaft 4 and transverse strips of metal 13 may replace the tyres on the rear wheels.
