Abstract
415,567. Endless -chain elevators. EWART CHAINBELT CO., Ltd., Colombo Street, and WILLIAMS, R. M., 22, St. Chad's Road, both in Derby. July 22, 1933, No. 20669. [Class 78 (i).] In an elevator in which the load-carrying trays 11 are kept horizontal during their ascent and descent by engagement of the side carrying members 10 or slings with vertical guide members, each side carrying member 10 has two rollers 14, 15, pins, or equivalents, associated therewith, each separate from and additional to the suspension member 13, which are adapted to travel in one of a pair of curved tracks 16, 17 partly surrounding the sprockets 18 of the elevator, and thus to prevent tilting while the trays are carried round the sprockets. A hinged tongue 19 provided at the point of intersection of the tracks is arranged to support one roller and to be raised by the other roller as they pass. When the elevator chains are arranged to travel horizontally before descending, the tracks are continued horizontally and the trays are steadied during this horizontal travel.
