Abstract

529,543. Endless-chain conveyers ; railways &c. rope. KING, Ltd., G. W., and KING, D. M. June 2, 1939, No. 16308. [Classes 78 (i) and 104 (ii)] An endless chain conveyer is disposed within a channel and fitted with one or more removable bracket members projecting from the chain above the upper limits of the channel so that loads may be attached readily to them. As illustrated both upper and lower runs of the chain are mounted in a recess in the floor of the building and the bracket members 16 project upwards through a slot in the floor. The chain comprises flat side links spaced by rollers 11 which are mounted loosely on the pivot shafts and form anti-friction rolling members on the I-beam 13 and on the base of the recess on the forward and return runs of the chain respectively. The reduced central portions of rollers mounted on cross bars 14 extending across some of the links are engaged by the recesses 17, 15 in the tail of the bracket 16, thus securing it against both vertical and horizontal movement relative to the chain during its period of action. A link 20 connects the leads to the brackets. The apparatus is specially suitable for hauling aircraft about the floor of a construction shop.
