415,342. Microscopes. REICHERT, C., and REICHERT, O., (trading as OPTISCHE WERKE C. REICHERT), 219, Hernalser Hauptstrasse, and RAMSTHALER, P., 8, Strohberggasse, both in Vienna. March 3, 1934, No. 6865. [Class 97 (i).] In a device for illuminating microscope objects by incident light which can be directed on to the object either by a mirror e which restricts the aperture of the objective when in use or by an annular mirror d and /or glass plate f which do not restrict the aperture when in use, the reflectors are rigidly connected together and are movable in a direction parallel to their surfaces to bring the mirror e in or out of action. The aperture of the mirror d and the size of the glass plate f are such that the required movement will not cause the annular mirror to encroach on the beam or the plate to cease to be traversed by the whole of the beam. The mirror d may be formed of metal and the mirror e may be a tongue connected thereto. The mirrors d and e may be reflecting surfaces formed on plate f. The mirror d may be dispensed with and the mirror e only formed on the plate f.
