Abstract
415,139. Pumps. BRISTOL AEROPLANE CO., Ltd., FEDDEN, A. H. R., and OWNER, F. M., Filton House, Bristol. Feb. 23, 1933, No. 5569. [Class 7 (ii).] Two compressors 10, 23 are employed, the compressor 10 being within the engine casing and the compressor 23 detachably mounted thereon. Compressor 23 delivers to compressor 10 through a carburetter 30 ; its shaft 26 is clutched to the shaft 17 of the compressor 10, both being actuated from the crank shaft by the train of multiplying gearing 12, 13, 15, 16. When the rotor 25 is not being driven the air may pass through the blower 23 or through a byepass. A removable piece of shafting, splined to the shafts 17, 26, may replace the clutch 32.
