[Class 51 (i).] In a travelling grate stoker passage of air from one forced draughtcompartment 4 to an adjacent compartment 5, through the space between an air supply duct 3, and the lower flight 2 of the grate is prevented by providing a seal consisting of flexible metal blades 8, 81 suspended from plates 9 fastened to the bottom 7 of the duct 3 and arranged in staggered rows. The lower ends of the blades make contact with the grate.
