Franþaise des Constructions Babcock & Wilcox; 48, Rue La Boetie, Paris) March 16, 1934, No. 8384. Convention date, March 30, 1933. [Class 51 (i)] In a chain-grate stoker installation the side masonry walls 1 of the furnace constitute the side members of the stoker, the side walls of the forced draught compartments 13 and the supports for the combustion arch 1<a>, while the chain grate is supported at the front by a sprocket and at the rear by a fixed semicylindrical plate 8. The upper flight of the grate is supported by spaced longitudinal girders 9 and the lower flight by a plate 10. Sealing means 15 is provided between the partitions 14 at the ends of the compartments 13 and the lower flight of the grate. Air is supplied to the compartments 13 through a conduit 18 the side walls 14 of which are provided with dampers 19, while the upper wall 17 of the conduit acts as a support for the grate.
