Abstract

411,977. Brake transmitting-mechanism. EAGLE ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and COLLIER, E. R. W., Eagle Works, Warwick. Feb. 17, 1933, No. 4880. [Class 103 (i).] Mechanism for operating brakes on a trailer vehicle from the tractor comprises toggle links 7<b>, 7<c>, 7<d>, 7<e>, the pivot 7f being on the casing 4 and the pivot 7a being on the operating lever 3 which is pivoted to the casing at 3<1>. A cable 10 connected to the trailer brakes passes around pulleys on the pivots 7<g>, 7<h> and is attached to the link 7<e>. In applying the brakes, the pivots 7<g>, 7<h> are moved apart so that the slack is rapidly taken up and the leverage increases as the pressure is applied.
