Abstract

411,664. Control of D.C. motors. GUY MOTORS, Ltd., Fallings Park, and COURT, J., Wanderers Avenue, both in Wolverhampton. May 4, 1933, No. 12973. [Class 38 (iii).] Regenerative braking.-In a system of regenerative braking for a vehicle motor 1, as described with reference to Fig. 6 of Specification 340,003, in which the main circuit is maintained until the motor ceases to regenerate, even if the driver takes his foot off the power pedal, and in which a reverse current relay 30 energizes a contactor 58 for short-circuiting the series field 2, switches 59, 59<a>, linked to and opening and closing with the contactor 58 are provided, for supplying the coils of main contactors 16<x> and 16, 16<o>, respectively, so that when regeneration ceases the driver can operate effectively the main contactors, without first bringing the pedal back to the " off " position.
