Abstract

411,401. Shearing yarns. MACKIE & SONS, Ltd., J., and MACKIE, J. P., Albert Foundry, Belfast. Jan. 22, 1934, No. 2232. [Class 120 (iii).] The ledger blade 4 of a machine for removing projecting fibres from yarn, cord, or twine is mounted so as to be pressed yieldingly against the rotary cutter 1. As shown, the blade 4 is pivotally mounted about a rod 5 to which is secured a lever carrying a weight 8. Alternatively the blade may be urged against the cutter 1 by a spring or by a fluid-actuated plunger. The bar 5 is slidably mounted and carries a fork 10 engaging an eccentric 11 so that the bar and blade 4 are reciprocated to prevent local wear of the blade.
