Abstract

515,749. Mowing &c. machines. COX, L. R June 9, 1938, No. 17115. [Class 6 (iii)] The cutter bar B of a mowing or like machine is lifted by a chain 12 extending from the cutterbar frame to a screw hook 11 passing through an axial eye positioned between two rocking arms adjustably pivoted on a bracket 2 on the main frame; a roller 10 at the end of these arms is engaged by the edge of a lever 9 when the lever is depressed and so the arms are rocked until the roller drops into a locking notch on the lever. To prevent the cutter bar from being lowered during the transport of the machine the lever 9 may be held in position by a locking pin. The lever 9 is also used to swing a pivoted stand 18 into position to hold the draw bar pole elevated for connection to the tractor, a connecting link 17 being attached to the lever for this purpose.
