Class 6(iii) Relates to mowing-machines of the type having a main frame 12, 25, with a transverse cutter-bar 17 pivoted to it about a longitudinal axis so that it can be raised, for transport, and held in a raised position by a transverse stay 10 According to the invention, an auxiliary stay 21 is also provided at right angles to the main stay 10 to reduce vibration of the raised cutter-bar, the auxiliary stay being pivoted at one end 24 to the main frame 25 and being engageable at the other end with the outer end of the main stay 10. The main stay is provided at its outer end with a collar 14 and a portion 15, beyond the collar, which passes through holes in the stay 21 and the cutter-bar 17 and terminates in a turnbutton which holds the. parts in position.
