[Class 122(i)] [Also in Group I] The connecting rod d between the driving crank a and the cutter-bar of a reaping machine is provided with a yielding clamp connection f, g, to the crank pin c, so that the connection may break on overload. The crank pin c comprises a ball-race and the clamp consists of a spring-loaded yoke f cooperating with two contacts h and i on the rod d so that the pin is held resiliently between the end g of the clamp and the points h, i, on the beam. A pivoted cam l assists in reopening the clamp after the connection has been broken.
