410,702. Catamenial appliances. BAILEY, A. A., and BURTINSHAW, E. G., Marriott Street Mills, Stockport, Cheshire. Dec. 9, 1933, No. 34674. [Class 81 (ii).] Relates to a sanitary towel, of the kind described in Specification 23103/14, [Class 81 (ii)], in which a tubular wrapper C of gauze is filled with cotton fibres in the form of separate slivers A laid side by side, a layer B of non- absorbent fibres or fabric being placed beneath the slivers. According to the invention, the lateral edges b of the layer B extend upwards over the edges of the absorbent layer A for some distance in order to prevent lateral escape of the fluid.
