Catamenial appliances; tampons. - A tampon for catiamenial use comprises a nucleus of touchwood wrapped in absorbent cotton or cellulose and then covered with absorbent gauze which is closed at one end by means of a silk thread, one end of which serves for withdrawal. The tampon is sterilized and may be scented, and is enclosed for sale in an envelope of impermeable paper.
